India’s telecom subscriber base crossed 1.12 billion in November last year with 21.02 million new addition. The growth was led Reliance Jio, which has now garnered over 80 million 4G subscribers in India and is set to get 100 million subscribers by this fiscal end.
Reliance Jio alone added over 16.2 million in November taking its total subscriber base to 51.87 million within three months of launching its commercial 4G services. According to the Trai data, Jio became a leader in the mobile broadband segment in November.
A recent Credit Suisse report said that Jio’s network coverage is significantly ahead of the other operators. It, however, added that Jio trails Airtel in 4G speeds.
