Ringing Bells, makers of the World’s cheapest Android Phone has reportedly shut down and opened a new company with a handle called MDM Electronics Private Limited.
The board of directors of the new company is Mohit Goel (MD of Ringing Bells) and Shashank Goel and Ashok Chaddha, both associated with Ringing Bells as well. The company ‘MDM Electronics Pvt Ltd’ is fairly new, and was set up on December 7 along with a registered office in New Delhi.
For now, there is no clue on what the new company plans to sell, but the name hints that the company will be working in electronics offering feature phones, smartphones, and TVs.
Currently, Ringing Bells’ website is shut for the moment however, the company had earlier announced that it will sell its products through e-commerce platform Amazon India. The products that were featured in the list are Freedom LED TV series, smart and feature mobile handsets and power banks.
Recently the company was summoned by a Delhi high court in a Rs. 2 crore cheque bounce case. The company has been accused of issuing a cheque in favor of AIPL, the complainant, towards discharge of their liability. But the cheque bounced due to insufficient funds.
